gerardo arredondo

draftsman/Junior Designer

Gerardo enjoys the creative problem-solving at the heart of architecture and the opportunity to transform ideas into thoughtfully designed and built environments. His professional journey began during his second year of architecture school, when he completed his first major residential project: redesigning and expanding his uncle’s house. The experience remains one of his most meaningful memories in the industry.

He earned his degree in architecture from Universidad Casa Blanca in his hometown of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. Before joining Houck, Gerardo worked independently on residential design, remodeling, and construction projects throughout Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Sinaloa. His experience also includes working as a construction site supervisor and contributing to the conservation and rehabilitation of a historic building in Culiacán.

Raised on his family’s ranch and surrounded by close family, nature, and farm animals, Gerardo developed a lasting appreciation for animals and the outdoors. Outside the studio, he enjoys cooking—especially sushi, Italian dishes, and Mexican food, which keeps him connected to his roots. His love of architecture also influences the way he travels, inspiring him to photograph the buildings and landscapes he encounters while continually developing his photography skills.

Gerardo stays active through strength training, tennis, horseback riding with his horse, Valerio, and taking Dante, his Great Dane, on hikes. A fitness enthusiast, he began his training journey with CrossFit and karate before making the gym part of his regular routine.
